MTV dio a conocer los nombres de los artistas nominados a los Video Muisc Awards 2022, cuya gala tendrá lugar el 28 de agosto y se transmitirá en vivo por MTV Latinoamérica. La celebración reconocerá a los íconos que revolucionaron la industria de la música con su trabajo, creando conversaciones globales.

En su edición 2022, MTV VMA recibirá a Jack Harlow y Lil Nas X con varias nominaciones por su colaboración en “INDUSTRY BABY”, estrenada en el mismo escenario pero un año atrás junto a Kendrick Lamar. Los tres artistas participan en 7 categorías convirtiéndose en los líderes de las nominaciones, seguidos por Doja Cat y Harry Styles, quienes compiten por 6 premios distintos.

Asimismo, Billie Eilish, Drake, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift y The Weeknd alcanzan numerosas nominaciones, y Bad Bunny participar en la categoría de “Artista del Año”. Mientras tanto, Becky G, Karol G, Baby Keem, la artista “MTV PUSH” GAYLE, Kacey Musgraves y Måneskin, se preparan para vivir sus primeras nominaciones a los MTV VMA.

Por su parte, Madonna reina la noche siendo la más premiada de la historia de los VMA con 20 victorias. Además, la artista es la única en mantener su presencia año a año en el evento, con nominaciones en cada una de las cinco décadas de los premios (1980-2020), obteniendo en esta edición su nominación número 69 por “MADAME X”.
